The breathtaking good looks almost make the pain worth it.

This car is on my list of cars that I truly lust for.  One of the few Italians on that list for me.  Gib.

Man do I want one of these! A guy in a red GTV 2000 pulled up next to me at the grocery store. We chatted a while and I mentioned that I had the hots for a GTV but that they were priced out of my budget and too similar to what I’ve got albeit slightly prettier .

He said, “Yeah, but I bet every time you set out to drive yours, it starts and the two of you go for a drive.” I nodded, and he smiled like the sort of man that just spent an hour getting his car started to make a 10 minute trip to the grocery store.

Ok, sure. But have you heard a GTV with an open exhaust?

I have. Once.  About 4 years ago.  And I still think about that morning...

Nice! I need to create an actual list- - it might help me start crossing some cars off. The reality is that it will be a much longer list than that, I think.

I’m curious - why the Ferrari 355?  If I had to include a Ferrari (besides a 250 California which is pointless) it would probably be a 360, I guess?

I have had the pleasure of hearing a lot of straight piped old Italians because the guy who has balanced the carbs on the 02 is a veteran Ferrari tech. Literally the oldest man I have seen in a working shop with dirty hands (actually working on cars).

When I first brought the 02 in, he was like “Oh man only two side drafts? Piece of cake, I just did balanced all six on that.” He pointed to a 1976 Ferrari 365 V12.

My most memorable exhaust moment is still the Carerra GT. I was behind one RIPPING on a local road in the M3 with the top down. Sounded like I was chasing a formula 1 car

There really aren’t that many engines that sound glorious at WOT and no mufflers.

The Italians built a disproportionate number of them - including the only V6 in that category (Busso).

This is just the “I will definitely get these” list. There are plenty of side quests. 355 for the aesthetic, 360 is definitely the better car  and I have actually driven one so I know I’ll like it, but I prefer the look of the 355.
